A good haiku I wrote that I never got to use

Damn,  I forgot the good haiku I wrote about poetry and making coffee.  I think I'll have to find it.  I've found a new way to entertain/enable procrastination, I can put all the poems I never ended up using for my honors project that I never did (and don't feel a bit bad about not doing, either) but worked on.  This way I can post a lot and still have things to talk to Ben about when I see him.  He has this silly little rule that I'm not allowed to discuss anything I put on my blog so to eliminate pretty much every ounce of conversation we could have with one another.  Stupid Ben and his stupid rules.

Emissions

My car passed emissions.  It was quick, after I finally found the place.  My mom gave me wrong directions and I couldn't remember what Ben told me on Tuesday.
We have new windows.  They don't have panes in them.  Siding is coming tomorrow or even today.  Our house is going to look so different.

Waffles is a Window Installation Guy Ho

So, Waffles is totally following around one of the guys who is installing windows in our house today.  I think this is a travesty since she doesn't follow me around and I was the one who brought her home, feeds her, and cleans her litter box.  She totally likes him and is snubbing me.
On another note, we're getting new windows today.  Also, we should be getting new siding starting later today or tomorrow.  Along with our giant new TV, our house is changing a lot.  The window people also came an hour early this morning and woke me up.  I do not like getting up earlier than I need to when I'm sleepy.
I also like recording movies off of Showtime and watching them whenever I want on my big TV.  I think I'm taking this TV with me when I move out.  My parent's don't need it.

Anniversary notes

So, my anniversary went really well.  I had fun and ate tasty food at the Melting Pot.  Mmmm...fondue.  We made our own chocolate fondue creation with milk chocolate, creme de menthe, and marshmallows.  It was surprisingly tasty, even on things like strawberries and bananas.  Ben was very jealous with the Melting Pot for the ability to always have good bananas.  Also, on another humorous note, we put our potatoes in the pot to start cooking at the beginning of the meal, and an hour later, they were still pretty raw, and pretty salty from sitting in the bullion for an hour.
Also, I've mad Ben very mad by always asking for an engagement ring.  I think I need to stop, and I'm going to really try to stop, but when people around me get engaged, I think I'm going to make a comment.  He gets mad when I bring it up because he known that he has wanted to marry me for three years and he doesn't think he needs to give me a ring to prove it.  Logically, I agree with him; emotionally I want a sparkly ring on my finger to indicate a visible change in our relationship status.
On another happy note, Ben got me Hellboy on DVD for our anniversary.  YAY!  It's my second favorite comic book movie after X-Men.  He also pre-ordered me The Sims 2 (which was supposed to come out along time ago, but now is scheduled to hit stores sometime in middle September).  At the end of the night, when I was getting out of the car to go home, he pulled something out of his pocket and I thought, yay, he lied to me, he's going to propose to me.  I got so excited and started making squealy noises.  But it was just my wallet.  Maybe this is why he gets annoyed with me bugging him for a ring.
Today I went shopping at Potomac Mills.  I got some cute work clothes.  In fact, all I got was work clothes and a pair of brown suede pumas.  This makes three pairs of pumas.  I love pumas.  I also got a fake blue and blue daisy pin to put on a blue suit I got.  I think I've watched too much The Look For Less since they tend to always look for little flowers to put on their outfits.
Also, Waffles is getting bigger in the belly.  Either she's gaining weight because she's actually eating or she's going to have babies.  Baby kitties would be cute.  If she has kittens, does anyone want one?  They'd be cute.  Waffles is going to be a fantastic apartment cat and I'm glad she's getting to stay here until I eventually move out.

So, Ben beat me to it

Okay, so I was not going to write anything in my blog today about tomorrow being my five year anniversary with Ben, but now I have to since he put something in his blog.
Five years.  Long time.  No ring.  In five more years, there better be a ring or a new boyfriend.
On a less jewelry-inspired-hostility note, I love him and he's great.

Also, it is funny that the spell checker for blogger doesn't recognize the word blog.  This makes me giggle at the irony.

Swim team is almost over!

After August 1st, I won't have any swim team stuff to worry about until next year, well, except the whole problem if I'm going to come back or not.  It's kinda a little pressure to have to like decide in the next month whether or not I come back next year.  Whatever, they can wait for me to decide.
All Stars on Saturday and Sunday.  Too bad people are not going to be here for All Star Relays which is going to force me to change half of a relay and make it way less fast than it was when we swam it in Relay Carnival.  Oh well.  People need to have some dedication.  So what if your kids don't want to swim, they signed up for it and they need to deal with it.  And you can postpone your vacation for a day in order to fulfill your duty to the team.  I don't understand these people.  While swim team is supposed to be a fun activity, it's annoying that people don't really want to commit to it.  I'm torn between my desire to be mean and yell at parents who go on vacation instead of staying around until the season is finished and just letting people be people and keeping it a fun experience.
I think I'm just going to not care for the next couple of hours.  Oh, except that I need to call to figure out what I'm supposed to do with the All Star t-shirt order forms.  Why do people give me so much to do?
I think I need a vacation, badly.   Wait, I need a job more than I need a vacation.

New cable fun

So, since we're getting a giant new plasma screen TV in a few days, my parents had comcast come and give us digital high definition cable with a digital video recorder.  I GOT TO REWIND TV!  It's so much fun.  I'm totally going to play with this a lot this weekend, well, whenever I have time.
Today I need to make picture frames (painting twice, glue on stars, write things on there, put in pictures, make envelopes for gift certificates), write thank you notes and little letters for the community service winners, calculate hours so Zach can deal with all the community service stuff, and many other things I'm forgetting about.
Eventually I get to take a shower!

It's hard to write when there's a cat sitting in front of the screen.

That cat is Waffles who is doing okay in our house.  The other two younger girls (Toby (8) and Foxxy (9)) keep trying to beat her up and bite her.  My dad kicked Toby today when she tried to lunge at Waffles in the bay window in the kitchen.  The cat totally loves my mom and dad more than me and will sit with my mom while she watches tv, but will run away from me as soon as I try to get her to sit with me.  It's not fair!  That's okay, my cat is still cute and will cuddle with me (well, as much as a jumpy paranoid cat will cuddle).
On a suckier note, my parents have to have much work done on the toilet connection in the downstairs bathroom.  The pipe had been installed too far from where the toilet needed to be so there was like an extender pipe there.  It has rotted and there were like roots near the pipes.  The plumber was cursing at the air; it was funny.
On another note that does not suck, we are getting a 42" widescreen plasma tv.  It's to watch the olympics in high definition.  I think my dad just wanted an excuse to get a snazzier tv.  I'm not complaining; who doesn't love big tvs?
On a funnier note, I was picking Nick up from summer school today and I told Nick that I was used to going toward Blair because my sister went to Eastern Middle school near there for the communication and humanities magnet program.  Nick commented that the coaching staff was made up of three nerds and a jock.  He's wrong, it's more like two nerds and two jock/nerds.
No work for me tomorrow afternoon!  This means that I'm spending lots of time with Ben.  I really like spending time with him; he's great.

Double Dare

So, I'm trying to come up with some modified rules to play Double Dare with the swim team at the end of this week.  We usually play Divisional Survivor, but I think Double Dare would be more fun (but more work).  I think I figured out a way to make cheap slime (water, cornstarch, and green food coloring), but I don't know to work Double Dare with three or four teams.  I don't know, I'll ask Karel, Matt, and Zach if they have any ideas.  I was thinking it would be more physical challenges with less question asking and more swimming.  Physical challenges could be like swimming underwater without breathing or collecting pennies and golf balls from the well.  Also, we could involve slime, water balloons, beach balls, etc, in fun mayhem.
So, I have this afternoon off, but I kinda have a headache now.  I think it'll be better once I wake up more.
I have to go clean up the dining room for the cleaners tomorrow.  Tomorrow around noon Karel, Matt, and I are going to work on paper plate awards.  It should be entertaining.  I love making paper plate awards.
Anyway, I'm going to go clean and then work on sending things out to people who need them, or people who I need to have them so I can get a job.

Let's play dodgeball

Hint for anyone planning on seeing Dodgeball and Anchorman: see Dodgeball first.   Anchorman is funnier, but Dodgeball actually has a plot.
Dodgeball is a funny movie with Ben Stiller playing an evil gym owner who inflates an air pocket in his tight wrestling suit attire to make his package look larger and engages in odd homoerotic activities with his large black spotter, Michele.  It's not the funniest role he's ever played, in fact, it's kinda like a purely evil and malignant Zoolander without the quirky attractiveness that makes Derek Zoolander so adorable.
But, it's funny anyway.  This movie might turn out like Zoolander where the first time you see it, it's okay; maybe with repeated watchings it will become irresistible merriment.
The previews for Anchorman are full of footage that doesn't appear in the movie, like the line where they say, "Let's make a baby!" and jump on each other in the middle of a meeting.  This makes me think that the DVD will have lots of deleted hilarity.
On motion thingy note, VH1's I Love the 90's is highly entertaining.  I've been watching it for the past couple of days in the afternoon when they play one episode after another.  Hal Sparks is my favorite commentator.  If I could just have two professional funny men in my lives for the rest of my lives, I would pick Kevin Smith and Hal Sparks.  (Ben is not a professional funnyman since no one has ever paid him for his entertainment.)
Also, I want to see Boogie Nights.

He's an addict

The best thing about being a swim coach, well, the best thing from yesterday, was that my swimmers tell me things about my friends.  For example, Morgan has been at softball camp all week and when she saw me today, told me that she had seen Ducore at Maryland smoking all week.  Now, this is the same Fuzzy who said he would not smoke cigarettes again and that he was done with them after finals.
Now, only if he tries to eat morning glory seeds then Ben gets to beat him up; that's what I call entertainment.

Changes

Damn, blogger is all different and weird and I don't know what's going on.
I went to see Anchorman today.  It was hilarious!  My "hillarious" comment would be much more amusing with it's typical interesting inflection.   It was an entertaining movie full of good quoteable one liners.  My favorite was Ben Stiller as a Spanish-speaking anchorman who joins a big fight with the phrase, "Como estan, bitches."  It's almost as good as the crony in XXX who invites female prostitutes into his cave in a club with the fantastic line, "Bitches come."  Again, this would be much more amusing with like the accents.  Oh well.  Anchorman: funny; willing to see it again.

Fun meet on Wednesday

So, I'm working on this fun meet for Wednesday night. I keep thinking of things to make it more fun and less long. I wish I would have started working on this earlier because I forget how much needs to be done and how much organization it takes. Of course, no one else has convenient times to meet and work on things. Here are my ideas for some fun for certain members of the team: 50 corkscrew, 50 polyman freestyle with flip turn, 100 meter IM medley, half time bellyflop contest, and freestyle t-shirt relay.
Also, on another note, Ben's laptop sucks since my big hands get all over the mouse and mess things up. I never thought of myself as having big hands, but whatever.
On another note, I love Ben and he is cute. That is all.
Also, I made Nick and Drew a giant cookie cake for their birthday and Ben's dad has eaten a substantial portion of it. At least my dad doesn't eat all the good stuff at my house all the time (well, except for mint chocolate chip ice cream).
One more thing, my cat and Waffles got into a big fight last night that scared Karel and caused the door in the room that they were in to slam shut. However, when I was leaving the house to go over to Ben's, Waffles was sleeping on my mom's lap, Toby was sleeping on some shoes, Squeekie was sitting on Karel's lap, and Foxxy was sitting on the ottoman without them fighting with each other.

Beginning of anniversary season

Today is the five year anniversary of when Ben realized that liked me more than a friend and more like a girlfriend. It's very sweet. Our five year anniversary is on July 27th (I think, I always get confused).
Another anniversary coming up is the one week anniversary of Kitty Waffles staying with us (on Monday). Everyone in the house really likes her, but my mom keeps making noise about to whom we could give her.
Also, this is the most nagged I've been about getting a job ever.
Also, we lost our A meet on Saturday, but the kids swam well. I'm tired of people telling me what to do. I don't just like paying lip service to people, but I think I'm going to do that a lot, especially when people tell me to do things that I'm already doing, in spades. I think the expression is in spades (which I mean to use as an expression of the abundancy of doing what the person is requesting/nagging).

Interesting animals

So, there's a bat hanging outside my front door. It's cute. Bats are not that ugly. The look like mice with wings and I think mice are pretty cute. It looks like a little bat. I wonder why it's sitting outside my house since most bats would probably like to chill some place more protected.

The bat hanging around outside my door. Posted by Hello

Nothing much

Kitty Waffles is funny; she doesn't like to leave her room. I've got to get Ben over here to spend time with her so that he can nag his parents to let him have this fantastic cat. She is going to be a perfect apartment cat.
The B meet on Wednesday was short because we cancelled it right after eight and under breaststroke because of thunder and lightening. The swim meet tomorrow should be good, it's going to be really close.
That's about it. I've been sleeping a lot since a long day at King's Dominion on Tuesday. It was hot, really hot. We spent like two hours in the water park (which made the day much more tolerable).
I'm hungry, where's Karel with my food?

Kitty Waffles

So, this is possibly the cat with the best disposition ever. The vet tech was absolutely in love with her and my mom is very fond of her, too. My dad is so afraid that he'll actually like the cat that he won't even go in the room to see her. Karel and I shall work on him tonight to convince him that he likes this cat. This would be a perfect cat for Ben, but he may have a more difficult time convincing his parents to keep her. The plan is to try and keep her until Ben and I move out and then take her with us. Maybe Kitty Waffles will purr her way into Ben's parent's hearts.

monkeys are good people

You bad people. No one has commented on how cute Kitty Waffles is. Karel thinks the Kitty part of the name is stupid and just wanted to call him Waffles. I know that I was planning on naming cats after mathematicians or other dorky men in science, but he is so not a nerdy cat. He is cute and likes to eat and sleep. The cat sounds a lot like me. I hope that this cat is a male because I'm so used to calling it a he.

I'm a mess

I broke the window in the guest room trying to open it. It cut my on my hand right above my wrist. Good thing we're planning on getting the windows replaced.

Kitty Waffles likes to sleep a lot. Posted by Hello

Indications

How do you know when a cat has lived a stressful life? When you take them home all they do is sleep like the dead (I've never known a cat who slept harder than Waffles), wake up for ten minutes, eat some food, drink some water, and go right back to sleep. The poor kitty.

House guest

So, if you all don't see me for a while, it's because my mom has killed me. I brought home a stray kitty from the pool today. It's very cute and very well behaved. It came running out of the woods by the pool at me meowing like it wanted attention at 7:45 this morning. I played with it, held it, and it stuck around the pool all morning. I told it that if it were still around at 11, I would take it home. It was there when I left and got in my car with no fuss. It was fantastic in the car; it didn't meow, or scratch anything. I put it in the guest room with some food, water, and a litter box. It's not mixing with my cats until it's been checked out by a vet.
I know I can't keep it, although it is a very nice cat. Do any of you want it? It's white with orange and grey/black tabby spots. It's going to be a tall and skinny cat with big ears and exquisite green/yellow eyes. It's very friendly and well behaved. For the time being, it's name is Kitty Waffles (after one of the twin's ridiculous name for their cousin's cat or the cat's real name, whatever it is, it's very catchy.)
I'm going to call the humane society and see if anyone has reported it missing. Maybe they can find someone to adopt it if it is a stray. It's really cute, but I'm not getting my hopes up about keeping it. I think my mom would be okay with keeping it for a short time until someone finds it a home.
My mom is going to be so mad.

Regency Estates

So, being that hindsight is 20/20, you should always go the way you know instead of the new way someone tells you. Karel and I drove to Regency Estates today. It took an hour and a half. We got lost. Really lost. Twice. I don't want to go into it since it makes Karel's and my direction finding skills appear a heck of a lot worse than they actually are. But it's funny because Matt and Zach got to feel the stress of being a head coach and dealing with two coaches running warm ups (I ran warm ups by myself all last year) and scratch meetings.
The meet went fairly well. Everyone swam their hardest and we lost by way less than we were supposed to lose by. It was the best effort I've seen this team give in a long time. We'll have a fun practice on Monday.
Tuesday I'm going to King's Dominion with the swim team. I think I'm traveling with Ben and Drew. It should be entertaining and since Drew stays up on the drive back, I can sleep while he keeps Ben company. Mmm..sleeping. Damn, my neck pillow is in my mom's car in Cape Cod. Maybe I'll just bring a pillow.
So, I'm all alone. I watched some Futurama, slept, cleaned my fish tank, took my medicines, and maybe I'll take a bath. I think I'll go to the grocery store tomorrow. I still have to like put the dishes away and do some dishes from this morning, but I really have no motivation. Why does everyone have to go away at the same time? And this is weird, but I'm not that tired. Why couldn't my house be empty and boyfriend gone last weekend when all I needed to do was sleep to make my hip feel better?
On another note, there are big ants in my house.

Yahoo movies lies

So, the swim team was supposed to go see around the world in eighty days today, but for some reason, they weren't still playing the movie even though yahoo said that they would still be playing it this week. There was much scrambling around this morning trying to figure out what to do. The only other pg movie playing at the time was two brothers, the movie about the tiger cubs. However, no one really wanted to see it and Spiderman 2 was playing at almost the same time. Most of us went to Spiderman 2 and it was awesome. I cried. Eight year old girls laughed at me. Matt threw an empty box of Mike and Ike's at Cameron and he couldn't figure out where they came from, but he still tried to shake some out and eat them. I think if a box of candy magically lands in my lap at a movie theatre I'm not going to try to eat some candy from it. Nick also wore the red and green Christmas gloves I keep in my car into the theater. All in all, a good time was had by all (except the two lazy coaches who have to go to work and take their friend to the metro who missed the movies).
