Wedding Update and What Would You Think?
Wedding things are going as well as expected. Steamer is going to be here on Friday. Ben bought a tux. Wedding ceremony location and time are set. Everybody has their outfits. Yay! To do list is as follows:
1. get acid free pens
2. bouquet for Fuzzy
3. print invitations
4. assemble MIBs - raffia, sea shell, sand, etc.
5. finish welcome letter
6. create funny statements for each person in the wedding party
7. tie raffia around towels
8. figure out how to put treasure chests together
9. pack all the stuff for the OOT bags
10. set up picture sharing site
11. print welcome brochure
12. make anklets
And packing, beautification things, house cleaning, etc.
And, now for the WWYT section of the entry. Ben and I got this card from a friend of his family on Sunday. Please explain your reaction if you were me.
Although you did not meet us before today, we feel that we know you through the wonderful things we have heard from your family. (Anna - you are very lucky to be joining the Custead family, they are special people) Hope this helps in a small way toward your beautiful future together.

If I were you, my reaction would be to deposit all my savings into the Bank of America, account number 249-366353-5.
I totally hope that you didn't just post your bank account number in a public place on the internet.
How about: even though we did not meet prior to today, we feel blessed to welcome you, such a highly thought-of woman who complements Ben so exquisitely, into the extended Custead family (and their friends). Or something better written, but whatever.
Or perhaps end it with: hope you plan on keeping your last name. Or special, like short bus special, except ben, who is relatively normal. Way to pick the best one. Shows your class.
"Hope this helps in a small way toward your beautiful future together." Did they give you a gift or just the card? If they just gave you the card, then I would smell awkwardness in the future. 'Cause then you gotta ask them somehow if they meant to give you a gift, otherwise, how will you know whether or not to send you a thank you note?
They included a check. I am more pissed off about the I'm so lucky to be joining the family comment. Like I'm not good enough or something. Hello! You've never met me!
i don't think it was like a personal attack or judgement of you. i think they just really like the custeads ("they are special people"). ...i just think it's an awkward attempt at friendliness.
