My pretty fish tank

So, I bought a whole bunch of new stuff for my fish tank. I've had this tank since I lived in the other house in Maryland, so like 10 or 11 years, so it was time for some changes. I got a new fake plant and new undergravel filter tubes thingies at petsmart. Then, yesterday, I went to the new Totally Fish (which is now called Tropical Fish and Pets), and bought lots of new and pretty things. I bought some new natural rocky gravel (since my old gravel was bright pink and the paint was chipping off), a new java fern, a neat piece of aquarium wood to tie to plant to, three new little rainbow fish that have a funny name, a algae eater (I wanted to get a gold pleco, but he was like an inch long and was like $13), and a new light bulb for the tank. The guy who helped me at the store told me it was my fish light that was causing my algae problems. Yeah, I think it was also the plants, but the light probably didn't help the situation.
Well, the fish tank looks fantastic. The gravel looks all pretty shades of natural brown, the giant fern that can grow for two months in a toilet bowl with the lid down looks excellent, my little fish are so cute, and my big dopey, scared old rainbow has lots of new places to hide. I keep looking at the tank and telling Karel how pretty my fish tank looks. I did a major overhaul on it, so I like to remind myself that it was worth it. And it does look really pretty. I think when I get my own classroom, this tank might go there and then I'll get a bigger salt water tank for where ever I live. I like having pets.

I disagree. I only have like two pets. I have a cat (who is like nine years old) and a fish tank. That's about two pets. Two pets are nothing. I need lots of animals to take care of so I won't be as mommy to you as I'd like.

What? The fish do so count as a pet since there is only one thing to clean. There would be the same amount of work for one fish as for a whole tank of fish. Therefore I win and you damn well better let me play with your puppies. I would never ask you to clean up after one of my pets (unless it was like cat barf, poop, or a dead animal).
