Flat tire
So, last week was pretty long. I was at school or a school related function until at least five all last week. Monday I had an English department meeting until three-thirty and then had to work on things until five. Tuesday I had extended day and stayed after with kids until 4:30 and then graded papers with Ashley (civics) until six-thirty. On Wednesday the team went out to dinner and I was there until seven. Then on Thursday I had Great beginnings until six and then went out to dinner. I left the restaurant at 7:15, but didn't get home until nine because of a flat tire. I hit something metal in the road that made a big slash in my tire. I wanted to cry. I wanted to go home and watch The OC (and I'm a little pissed that they shortened the intro). Yesterday I stayed until 4:15ish and then had to deal with nasty traffic. Ben didn't get home until 7:15 and he decided that I was probably going to fall asleep soon so we didn't get to see each other. He wasn't too far off. I went to bed at 7:30 and watched "Moll Flanders" that I bought at Walmart on Thursday for $5. It was not true to the book.
Hopefully Ben will charge up his Gameboy Advance and take me to go see the new Bridget Jones movie this weekend. That would be fantastic. Also, I hope to get a lot of apartment research done this weekend so that I can move into Northern Virginia to help bring up the democratic numbers in the state. Interestingly, the area we would move to (Fairfax) is one of the few democratic counties in Virginia.
Now it's time for a shower to wash off the face mask I just did. It's not only nine this morning and I've already watched a movie (I finished the last hour and a half of "Moll Flanders"), waxed my eyebrows, did a face mask, and written a blog entry. Before nine I think I'll have also showered and shaved my legs. This is such an accomplishment since I haven't done many of these things for weeks. It's sad when you have so little time at home that you begrudge the time you spend in the shower and don't shave your legs.

Damn, that sucks how much you have to stay at school all the time. I bet Ben misses you about as much as I do since you don't get to see him too much more than you do me!
Changing a flat tire does really really bite as well. I am assuming you did it yourself since you didn't mention waiting on the AAA guy or anything. Did it make you at least feel self-sufficient to do so? Last time I had to do one, I had an asthma attack and was en route to the doctor, so I wasn't physically able to do it myself and that sucked more than the tire. But I totally understand how it can make you feel.
I am sorry you missed the OC; you'll be happy to know I have people up here who are more obsessed with it than you and ben put together. So, we have a thursday night get together to watch it and discuss afterwards. It makes me miss my special Thursday night Anna time.
I am also impressed with all you got accomplished; I think we are switching places. All I have done is sit on my ass recently watching TV when I should be working but just don't wanna do anything, and you are on top of everything, even girly time. It's backwards-land!
I say look on the bright side. You're busy out the wazoo, but at least you're busy doing generally good and productive things. Also at least you're not working at the second worst school in the Bronx (as my friend is, who also recently received an "unsatisfactory" rating from the vice-principal because she talked for five minutes too long instead of giving the kids five minutes longer to do their in-class activities). Plus you have good friends. Annnnnnnnnd! Look what you accomplished all before 9 am! I didn't know one could do so much so early. Until I graduated from college, I didn't even know 9 am actually existed. I thought it was just a myth grown-ups told kids to keep them from graduating from college and competing for their jobs.

Kayla - I did call AAA. The guy was pretty fast. I was wearing pretty clothes and I didn't want to have to change my tire when my parents have paid people to do it for me.
Will - You know what's sad? When I sleep in until eight in the morning on weekends, it's like I'm getting three and a half more hours of sleep! How sad is 8:45 a.m. a four hour late wake-up time? It's pretty sad.
That is pretty sad. I woke up this morning and looked at my clock and I thought to myself, I am late for work. This is frightening because (a) It is Thanksgiving and there is no work to go to and (b) I awoke in Maryland which is several hundred miles away from my job in New York and it would have taken me several hours to get to said job. Good thing I didn't have to go.
We should hang out and make fun of Tim.

Hahaha. Can I make fun of Tim long distance from Vermont?
Heck yeah! When do you want to hang out? I know Ben's coming back from the beach tomorrow afternoon sometime.
Kayla, making fun of Tim is not at all related to your proximity to Tim.
ok, what is with this making fun of Tim that everyone is talking about? I am a nice person about which there are no funny things to laugh about. Unless, of course, you know another Tim, whom you are making fun of, in which case he is a complete dumbass who is fat and looks like a monkey.
Kayla, if you were thinking "making fun of Tim" thoughts this weekend, they would have quickly reached me and caused me mental anguish, as I was in Hanover for 2 days. So the bad thoughts would have had less distance to weaken before reaching me. Cuz thats how bad thoughts work.
Man, what the hell am I talking about?
